Flu and Cold Remedies
I feel good now, but during the month of December I had a lingering cold and was drifting in the Sea of Nyquil-ity. Looking back, I had only one day where I couldn’t get up off the sofa, and I felt semi-functional most of the time. I remember reading a book and enjoying it, but now the only detail I can remember is that the book had a blue cover. I donated the book to a library and will never see it again. The author, title, and plot are lost to me forever. Perhaps I was more out of it than I realized.
Since I didn’t feel too sick, I took Dayquil and Nyquil and forged on for the first two weeks, pretending that nothing was wrong. Eventually I got laryngitis and had to admit I was sick. I discovered that the most common cause of laryngitis is taking too much cold medicine. The best cure was a vaporizer. I sent Neil off for one, and it really helped along with warm water and salt gargles.
So are natural remedies better for colds and flu? Do you drink tea with honey as I do for a scratchy throat? Does the neti pot help your stuffed up nose? What remedy works or doesn’t work for you? Also, did you get a flu shot this year? Why or why not? I was paralyzed with indecision

It's terrible to feel rotten for a long time - I keep washing my hands and crossing my fingers (not at the same time) and so far have avoided both the flu and the virus. I never take medicines if I can help it, not even aspirin or Advil. Drinking lots of water and taking it easy are my favorite options. I always get a flu shot, since the effects are cumulative. Oddly, with my anti-drug feelings, I do trust my doctor! Hope your energy is back!!
It is wonderful that you do not need to take any drugs. My father was like that, and he lived a long life.
