Mirror, Mirror…

Take one super heavy, corroded metal mirror frame. Sand it and paint it with white gripper paint—three coats. Unpack a lifetime collection of sea shells. (No need to shell out a lot for this project.) Slowly as a snail, stick hundreds of shells to the frame with a hot glue gun…one at a time. Be sure to leave spaces on both sides for hands to grip the frame.

Get your very strong musseled husband to hold up the frame with his clammy hands while you corkscrew the mirror to the wall. Don’t let him conch out until you’re done.
Finish gluing shells to the frame in situ, including those jettisoned in the hanging process. Clean mirror.

Voila! A kitsch-y shell-covered mirror frame for a Florida condo!

“Mirror, mirror, on the wall,
Will the shells stay on or fall?”

It reminds me that you had a similar eight grade science fair project. My eigth grade teacher was a judge at your school. He told us how impressed he was with your collection and expertise. OF course he didn't announce your name. Years later I discovered the articulate knowledgable young lady was you.
