With family after 40th Anniversary Party
It has been three years since I started my blog and vowed to write a post once a week. Have I succeeded? Of course not, but I was doing pretty well until about two months ago. My last post was written on August 22nd. Two months have zoomed by, and I have written nothing. Yet it wasn’t that nothing was happening; it was just that too much was going on.
The last two months have brought events of great happiness and great sadness. First our children surprised us with a wonderful party for our 40th anniversary. Far-flung friends and relatives came to help us celebrate in my favorite banquet room at our golf course. Next, sadly my mother had a stroke in September and passed away not long after that. We had a lovely memorial service for her at her church in North Andover. It was a fitting tribute to a wonderful mother.
Lastly, further celebration of our anniversary came in October when Neil and I took a life-long dream of a trip to Paris. Add to that many visits with our grandson and his parents and golf vacations too.
So, I have not written my blog because I have not been home much—not more than 3 or 4 days at a time. Now that I have my normal life back, I have a lot to write about.
