Today we are packing up, and tomorrow we are heading south for the winter. We'll be stopping to visit some old friends with a new house in North Carolina along the way. Otherwise, it's a straight shot to South Florida on Rt. 95--a really boring drive. We expect to be there in two and a half days. A little traveling music please.
What CDs do you enjoy listening to on long trips?

re: traveling music - how about The Commitments or Traveling Wilburys - just be sure to sing along. Probably too late to get it for this trip, but for our last drive across the country we got Jack Kerouac's "On the Road" on CD.
Be careful - the trucks are numerous on the highway; during our travels we refer to them as the "truck train" since you look in the rearview mirror and all you see is a line of trucks.
I listen to books on tape when I travel. It really makes the time go by quickly.
You picked the right time to head south. As you probably know, we were hit with a major snowstorm over the week-end which will pretty much guarantees us a white Christmas. The roads are now cleared and I am looking forward to the arrival of Kim and her family tomorrow.
Have a wonderful holiday in sunny Florida!
Thanks for your suggestions! I meant to take the Traveling Wilburys but took a different Roy Orbison CD by mistake. Neil burns CDs by downloading songs from the Internet, so the randomness of each CD keeps us guessing--who is the artist? Books on tapes/CDs would be a nice change for us. Two and a half days of driving is a long haul! We did get out just in time but rest assured that we drove through your big snowstorm when it was torrential rain.
