The Magic of Hollywood

For those of you who live in south central Pennsylvania, there is a fabulous exhibit at The Reading Public Museum called The Magic of Hollywood featuring 100 costumes worn in films from the 1930s to the 1990s.

We were able to name a couple of the movies just by looking at the gowns, specifically Gone with the Wind and My Fair Lady. The waists were tiny and the sequins and feathers were many. They were largely from an era of glitz and glamour-- designed by the likes of Edith Head, Chanel, Givenchy, and Bob Mackie and worn by Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Vivian Leigh, Greta Garbo, Lana Turner, and many more.
