Celebrating Six Decades of Joy and Angst

I decided to launch my Boomer Blog on my 60th birthday as a symbol of trying new things. I’ve been working on this blog for a while, setting it up, learning how to make links, etc. I dusted off some old pieces of writing and added some new ones. I plan to make an entry each week, and I hope that my readers will visit once in a while and add their comments.

I want to thank my children and their spouses who taught me about creating blogs and using digital cameras. Of course, they have all moved on to Facebook and left me behind, but a blog seems like a better vehicle for publishing my writing and art work.

My 60th year has been full of fun and celebration. Retirement gave me the freedom to do what I want whenever I want. From an Eric Clapton/Steve Winwood concert to a trip to Lubec, Maine with my high school friends to a beach vacation in NC with friends and family, it has been a great ride. Turning 60 certainly makes me feel the passing of time, and I want to spend my future wisely on experiences that are both interesting and enjoyable.

Nice job on the blog! I am glad we could help! It is nice to have something else to read while I am at work :-)
